Rev. James Reeb (1927-1965) was a social worker and Unitarian Universalist minister who was killed by segregationists in Selma, Alabama in March 1965. Reeb’s death was pivotal toward passage of the Voting Rights Act that year by the U.S. Congress.

Steve went to Selma to join the civil rights movement there immediately after learning of Reeb’s murder.
